With over 15 years of experience in IT, I provide a comprehensive portfolio of IT- and management-related experiences, ranging from technical knowledge (especially Linux, networks, VoIP systems, client cloud computing) to IT security, IT service management and process and general management. Other main areas of interest are data analysis, (social) network analysis and scientometrics.

The IT service department of the University of Innsbruck provides all central IT services of the University, ranging from basic infrastructure services (datacenters, network, telephony) to client, database and server systems, learning management systems and high performance computing (HPC). With about 120 employees, it is counted among the biggest IT departments in western Austria.

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) department of the University of Innsbruck provides a broad range of essential IT services to the employees and students of the University of Innsbruck. This includes comprehensive network and network security services, telephony, datacenter management, Windows client and server systems and e-mail services for employees and students.

Network Administrator

2001 - 2008

As a network administrator, I had two focus areas: I maintained a number of network-related infrastructure services (mainly based on Linux systems) and was responsible for all aspects of IT security, with a focus on network security.

Linux System Administrator

1997 - 2001

Starting in 1997, I developed both the Linux client and the Linux server infrastructure of the University of Innsbruck. On the client side, I developed various diskless and "conventional" Linux systems, integrated in a central management system. With regards to the servers, many of the fundamental systems of the University of Innsbruck were moved to Linux servers.

The program focuses on aspects of international business, including financing and HR (diversity & cultural aspects). My master's thesis was titled "Innovation in Russia. Analysis of Innovation Indicators Based on Survey Data".
