The Center for Experimental Economics is a research center at the Institute of Public Finance (Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck) that employs experimental methods to conduct social and economic research. It runs a wide range of projects and institutionalizes the existing research agenda of a qualified research team. The main objectives of the Center for Experimental Economics include:

  • scientific research in the areas of experimental and behavioral economics;
  • worldwide communication of the research results to the scientific community by means of publications and presentations;
  • the use of research results and findings in research-related teaching;
  • the collection of further research grants from Austrian and European research funding agencies; and
  • the promotion of economic knowledge among the general public and the communication of research results to society.

The Center for Experimental Economics is a unique unit in the Austrian research landscape and a distinctive center of excellence of the University of Innsbruck. Financial support is provided by Raiffeisen Landesbank Tirol AG, which provides basic funding and has been collaborating fruitfully with the Center since its foundation.
