Sabine Mayrhofer, born in Innsbruck 1973, studied microbiology (1993 - 2000) at the university in Innsbruck with main focus on biochemistry. Diploma thesis in fungal systematics about aphyllophoraceous fungi on Castanea sativa in Italy.
2001 until 2003 PhD in the Institute of meteorology and environmental research (IMK-IFU) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, searching for isoprenoid metabolism in poplar and holm oak with reagard to gas exchange measurements and molecular biology of the isoprenoid synthesis.
